After a short break due to brain-freeze on the part of event centre management, the West End theatre has been re-opened yet again. A brave move by Zagrya Tredoux of ACT NOW training and casting. You'll find them on facebook. It's with some sadness that Magic Stunts has said goodbye to the West End but it has been a memorable part of our journey. Break a leg Zagrya
The West End Theatre (formerly known as the Piet Van Der Walt theatre) at the Tshwane Events Centre (formerly known as Pretoria showgrounds) in Pretoria (formerly known as...., well now it's Tshwane) is now (as in not formerly) available for your event/production or as rehearsal space.
Originally
built in 1964 and designed by P.J. van der Walt, then the City Mayor, and named
the Piet van der Walt theatre, this old theatre was brought back to life as
the West end theatre. With a fully functional lighting system, brand new in-house
sound system, and under new management, the West End theatre is one of the best
theatres in the Gauteng area. The theatre auditorium seats 440 people and boasts
amazing acoustics making this venue ideal for musical entertainment and dance
performances. With two backstage dressing rooms equipped with ablutions to fit
a total of 32 performers the West End theatre make productions with a big cast
easy. The foyer has a fully equipped bar and catering can be arranged.
